Bernie Wood finalist for the Citizen of the Year award

Bernie Wood was nominated for the Citizen of the year award as part of the Be Proud Awards 2010 in Manchester and made it to the final three. She was nominated by a Talbot House service user. The Be Proud Award is held every year is to celebrate the achievements of individuals and groups across Manchester that benefit the community. The Citizen of the year award is awarded for the difference the nominee has made in the city and for work that benefits the whole community. They may be actively involved in promoting the image or raising the profile of a particular project or they might take a stand against antisocial behaviour in their area. The award ceremony was held on the 10th December at Manchester Town Hall, it was a glitzy event with a three course meal thrown in.
