Bag packing at Asda

21st June 2012

Parent/carers from Talbot House came together on the 19th June to raise money for Talbot House in a flurry of bag packing. Asda in Harpurhey organised the bag pack as part of their community initiative and work with charities.

Money was donated from costumers in exchange for getting their shopping packed at the tills. They were received well by the community and they had an overwhelming response with one lady donating £6 on top of her shopping bill.

Sabrina Wright, a volunteer at Talbot House, led the team of eleven volunteers and parent/carers through the day from 10am until 2.30pm. Sabrina said ‘The response was extremely good which was uplifting for the volunteers from Talbot House. The costumers were friendly, generous and interested in our cause. Sabrina went on to say ‘It was worth the sore feet’.

Talbot House raised £414 from this fund raising activity and would like to thank Asda in Harpurhey for their support. We will be doing another bag pack later in the year.
