Raffle winner

3rd October 2011

Talbot House supporter Marjorie Lomas struck it lucky last week and scooped £430.80 in our 35th Anniversary Raffle.

The draw took place on Friday 23rd September in our café. General Manager, Bernie Wood pulled out the winning ticket in front of an excited audience of parent-carers, staff and volunteers.

Pensioner Marjorie, of Glossop, was delighted to hear of her win and will be using the unexpected windfall to celebrate a special birthday. She visited Talbot House with her daughter, who is an Ordinary Lifestyles volunteer, to collect her windfall and was presented with her cheque by Bernie. They were accompanied by Maureen a support worker from Ordinary Lifestyles who supports Cy Lewis who sold Marjorie the winning ticket whilst supporting Talbot House.

Marjorie commented ‘This is most definitely the biggest prize I’ve ever won in a raffle and it was a big surprise!’

Over 1400 tickets were sold by volunteers over the summer and the proceeds will be used to provide short breaks for parent-carers.

We’d like to thank everyone who helped to promote our raffle and to everyone who bought a ticket and supported our fundraising efforts.
